An Episcopal service is rich with liturgy, ritual and tradition, dating back to Henry VIII. Unless the newcomer has come from a Roman Catholic background, he/she will likely be confused about sitting, standing, kneeling, use of the Book of Common Prayer and the Eucharist. This is indeed a handbook! The author not only explains the Episcopalian worship service in detail, but provides background information on the whys.

From understanding the sacrament and ceremony of Baptism to famous Episcopalians from different walks of life. It explains how the church is organized worldwide, a short chronology of the church, how Episcopalians use the three-legged stool, how to tell the season of the year by the color of the altar hangings and vestments, and, of course, settling the question, Is Coffee Hour Really Another Sacrament?

But the Episcopal Handbook is in common American English. Yeah! I can understand and recommend to anybody wanting to know more about the Episcopal Church.
