Dan Walsh, bestselling fiction author of novels like The Unfinished Gift and The Reunion, has penned his first non-fiction book. Perfect Peace is a 31-Day Devotional crafted from the pages of Dan's personal journal, written over the last several years. Here's an excerpt from Day 2: “If you’re like me, you’ve known moments of real peace. Moments when you’ve trusted God fully for your life, for everything going on in your life. In those moments, you knew real peace. The problem is, the word ‘moments.’ The moments didn’t last. The promise of Isaiah 26:3 is not to have moments of peace in our lives. The promise is that God would keep us in Perfect Peace.” In Perfect Peace, Dan shares the Scriptural life-lessons he's learned during some of the more challenging times in his life, hoping to encourage other Christians wrestling with things like stress, worry or fear.

By Mocha with Linda I love Dan Walsh's novels, and having met the man and read some of his blog posts, it is easy to imagine him in his former pastoral role. So I was thrilled to learn he has taken some of his journal reflections and published them as a devotional book. Reading these devotionals is like having coffee with a spiritual mentor. Walsh speaks Truth with the wisdom of one who has walked (and is still walking) the road of the reader. With authenticity and humility, yet confidence born of a proven faith, Walsh shares how the reader can find peace in the midst of life's storms. This book will inspire and encourage you. Why not pick up two, one for yourself and one for a friend?Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a digital copy of this book free from Dan Walsh. It speaks to your heart about the futility and actual harm of worry and fear. It came at a time when I needed it most, too. Dan Walsh is an excellent author who normally writes novels. However, he was a pastor for 25 years and has experience in dealing with this subject matter. It is great!*I was given a copy by the author in exchange for my honest review, which I have given.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. well written By MelindaJoy926 I've been reading Dan Walsh's books since I first learned about them back in 2012, and I'll continue to do so because I'm such a big fan. His fiction writing style is similar to Nicholas Sparks, but I enjoy Walsh's so much more. I was thrilled to read this devotional. It's a different mood from his other books, but equally enjoyable. It offers you insight, and is written from a place of humility. Reading this is like having coffee with the author. It's a great book to read if you are searching for peace and want something you can absorb. Some devotionals are so full of backstories/theological debate that I can't understand their point, but that's not the case with this book.
