"There’s often confusion on what the fruit of the Spirit is and is not. It’s not a list of instructions of how we should live; rather the fruit are qualities we exhibit when we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. We are set free to live a new life in Christ, no longer indulging in selfish desires but enabled to serve one another in love. Live Free encourages us to cultivate our hearts for the Spirit to produce fruit."

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. First rate. A bargain By Dr Constantine Campbell teaches New Testament Greek at TEDSThis is a small devotional work by him. It is written in simple language. This should not compared with technical commentaries that serve a different roleIt is a bit hard for e to review as I have te Kindle version and it is hard going back and forward between the book and writing the review. This book is lucidly written you may think it is a piece f cake but try explaining the information covered without recouce to the book. You get to see how he structures the material and how this leads to people picking up the points easilySome pointsHe notes thatIt is the Fruit of the SpiritThese are contrasted to the works o the FleshWe cannot grow them-they come from the Spirit. An apple remoe from the tree does not keep growing. It needs the tree's nourishment. He asks if all of us should have all the fruits of the Spirit or are they to be spread around various members in the congregationHe looks at what the works of the flesh are and shows that Christ's death dealt them a fatal blow. Sin now longer has power over us. He does discuss remaining sin latter on. He uses the illustration of Abaham Lincoln, the liberatios of the slaves in the South and how the Slave was free from the time of that enactment [ I write as a New Zealander ] the actual tie for the slave to live as fully free took time [I have badly stated this-get the bookand see exactly what he said.He looks at Galatians which has a number of useful points. If I remember correctly related to Ezekiel 37: 27 to the coming of the Spirit ang obeying God's law. [i flicked back at forth but kept getting lost on the way.The last chapter is on Keep in Step with theSpirit 'Campbell gies a varity of pointers to help with thim.I found this a most instrustive littte booklet. He has a number of little gems for explaining things that I likedMost of it is in one sense what I knew. What Campbell did for me was to fit the pieces together in an ordely manner, he relateded how they related To each other, how one can be dead to sin, but still have the problem of remaiming sin.The booklet mention a number of bible texts and weaves them into the topicMy review was longer than L thought it would be,I hope I have representedit arguement correctly
