About the Author Oli Doyle first started practicing mindfulness in 2003, and all he could find were books by the Dalai Lama and other Buddhist writers. Like many do, he found the task of putting those words into practice incredibly difficult, so he set about deconstructing this practice of mindfulness and translating the experience into everyday language. Having this book serves as a constant and simple reminder to stop, and come back, fully into the present moment. With this reminder, comes an overwhelming sense of calmness. During times of 'stress' and heightened emotion, I find gentle reminders come to mind quite naturally now, to STOP my thoughts racing into the fears and doubts of the future, and JUST BE PRESENT. It is incredible to feel the power of this simple method in practice.Oli Doyle has managed to describe this way of being in a simple and elegant manner that is accessible to everyone - even those of us who have been 'too busy' rushing through our lives to stop and appreciate this moment. I can honestly say, for me, even though life remains busy, when I remain present, the rushing stops.
