You’re about to discover the difference between night terrors and nightmares and what you should do when your child is experiencing them. Many children experience nightmares and night terrors, but most grow out of them. They don’t cause any long-term psychological harm to your child. A child having night terrors may scream and thrash around, and may not recognize you if you try to comfort them. This behavior occurs on waking abruptly from deep, non-dream sleep. Your child won’t be fully awake during these episodes and will have no memory of it the next morning. Nightmares occur from dream sleep (REM sleep). Your child may wake up from the nightmare and depending on their age, may be able to remember and describe the bad dream to you. Both night terrors and nightmares in children are described in more detail in this book along with advice about with you should do. Night terrors are common in children aged between three and eight years. A child who experiences night terrors may scream, shout and thrash around in extreme panic and may even jump out of bed. Their eyes will be open but they’re not fully awake. The episodes usually occur in the early part of the night continue for several minutes (up to 15) and sometimes occur more than once during the night.

This book has brought to my attention that we can do more than just pray for their salvation. I have asked Go to bind the powers of darkness against them but this book gives much more insight and direction. I would recommend it to anyone who is praying for the salvation of others.

Really brings home the wisdom of judgment (care) free coaching of the person, not the situation or the "story". Too many take aways to list but I love the concept of "we get to choose what things mean", "state is king", and the importance of "well formed outcomes". We are far more resourceful and powerful than we think.

The truths in this book are medicine for those who want less inner turbulence and greater unity of self. Oddly enough that pill isn't hard to swallow. Jaemin shows in this book how that pill is the easiest and nicest pill you'll ever swallow.Do not rush through this book, read it slow and read it right.

Take the Journey By Durough When I requested a review copy of Bill Delvaux’s /Divided: When the Head and Heart Don’t Agree/ I thought to myself, “How does one successfully solve the long debated ‘head vs. heart’ dilemma in under two hundred pages?” I went in with an assumption about what Delvaux was attempting to accomplish, but by the time I got to the final two chapters I realized why the reader was being taken on this journey that never seems to land anywhere. What’s the point, you ask? I don’t know about other reviewers and how they’ll approach this one, but answering that would be akin to spoiling a good movie. This book will catch you off guard—in a good way—if you’re willing to stick with the journey./Divided/ is presented in three sections:1. “Viewing the Divide: How it Began and What It Destroys” — If you don’t connect and relate at the start of this section, just keep reading. Eventually one of the many anecdotes will strike a chord and you’ll find yourself acknowledging your own divide.2. “Tackling the Divide: Three Terrains to Navigate” — This is where the reader is forced to consider more holistically one’s own story and listening to others in order to better understand the person. Great stuff. Yes, but how does this tackle the divide? It doesn’t matter; just keep reading.3. “Closing the Divide: What the Journey Feels Like” — So this is where it’s wrapped up in a nice package, right? Notice the subtitle is not “How to Fix It.” Once you get this far, you’re too invested to turn back, you’re not sure why you’re reading but know you need to keep going, and then *wham!* it hits you. “What the Journey Feels Like” is an appropriate description, and it’s only after journeying with Delvaux to the end will you realize the necessity of the journey.If, like Paul, you struggle with doing the things you know not to do and not doing the things you know to do; if you put on a façade to hide the real you that you think others will hate; if you act and react out of an unknown position that lies in the darkest parts of you that you’re afraid to explore or may not even know exists, then /Divided/ may be what helps you work through it. Just finished reading By Anderson Bill Delvaux's Divided looked and sounded very promising, however, I believe it ultimately came up short in the end. The book is separated into three sections: Viewing the Divide, Tackling the Divide, and Closing the Divide. In the three sections, we have a total of eight chapters as well a conclusion. The first section deals with the problem and severity of the Divide. The next section deals with unearthing the divide, learning to listen, and telling your story. The last section addresses the concept of descending to ascend and the need to be humbled to be raised up.Unfortunately, the book does not deliver as the solution to the issue of the division between the head and the heart ends up being a call to a "quiet time". However, it isn't just any quiet time because even those with a division between the head and the heart may do that, but a call to solitude and silence before God. He advocates a dialogue in prayer and not simply a monologue. He says we shouldn't just read the Bible but need to meditate and journal through it. At the end of the day, he doesn't provide any advice which hasn't already been given to God's people.Ultimately, he falls short because he focuses almost exclusively on the individual (though he has a section arguing against a strictly individualistic approach) and the individual's relationship to God. The Church, the sacraments, and fellowship seem to play almost no part in eradicating the division between the head and heart. This is a major flow. Anytime the church is mentioned, it is in such a way that one's own personal fulfillment or encouragement is pinnacle. In addition to this, I find the idea of uncovering everyone's story as a front to simple repentance and turning away from sin. We can spend so much time trying to figure out why we may yell at our wife and children instead of turning from sin and confessing it to others. Jesus doesn't call the Rich Young Ruler to figure out why he doesn't want to sell all his things and follow Him, Jesus just calls him to it. Morgan Divided: When the Head and Heart Don't Agree by Bill Delvaux is a book about the divide many Christians experience between what they intellectually acknowledge, and what actually plays out in their life. Delvaux shares many personal examples as he discusses the universality of the divide, what the divide is, what causes it, and how to cross it.I was initially excited to read this book, and the concept of intellectually knowing the truths of the Bible, while still having trouble believing them enough that they are everyday parts of my life is something I've struggled with. However, when I actually started the book, I realized it wasn't going to be as helpful as I'd hoped. Delvaux shares some good ideas, and his honesty about his own struggle is encouraging in that I know I'm not alone. In my opinion, he spends too much time establishing the fact that there is a divide. The first third of the book is used to establish this. The second third, which is supposed to be about "tackling the divide" is really more of the same - more establishing that there is a divide than ways to tackle it. The last third discusses what its like to close the divide.For someone who is unfamiliar with the concept of the divide that occurs in many believer's, Divided has helpful information. It's more of a primer on the subject than a guide to dealing with it. At the end of each chapter are prayers and discussion questions that can be used by individuals or groups to go deeper into the content of each chapter.I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookLook book review bloggers program. By Ryan Chamberlin As a professor at medical school, and author of three prepper medical books, I found the medical information presented in this work to be remarkably accurate. That's quite a feat for someone who hasn't been indoctrinated into the rigid confines of medicine. But that shouldn't have surprised me, because the author writes very, very well.Much of his book addresses the potential consequences of global diseases, and how one might reconcile difficult choices that must be made during disasters... from a Christian point of view. Another large portion deals with a subject on many people's minds these days. Namely, what does it mean to be a Patriot in America today, when the people of this great nation no longer trust their government, and find conspiracy in every direction they look. And that's why I really enjoyed this book. Maybe I didn't agree with everything, but I certainly respected his well written arguments and points of view.All-in-all... WELL DONE!

Easy to grasp language make this a book for everyone. I was quite surprised by the amount of information in this book. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I wish I had been warned of these dangers two years ago when I experienced complete renal failure due to flu, it could have prevented much. Thanks Ken McClelland for wonderfully educational read.

About the Author

David Grembowski, Ph.D., M.A., is a professor in the Department of Health Ser- vices in the School of Public Health and the Department of Oral Health Sciences in the School of Dentistry, and adjunct professor in the Department of Sociology, at the University of Washington. He has taught health program evaluation to graduate students for more than twenty years. His evaluation interests are prevention, the performance of health programs and health care systems, survey research methods, and the social determinants of population health. His other work has examined efforts to improve quality by increasing access to care in integrated delivery systems; pharmacy outreach to provide statins preventively to patients with diabetes; managed care and physician referrals; managed care and patient-physician relationships and physician job satisfaction; cost-effectiveness of preventive services for older adults; cost-sharing and seeing out-of-network physicians; social gradients in oral health; local health department spending and racial/ethnic disparities in mortality rates; fluoridation effects on oral health and dental demand; financial incentives and dentist adoption of preventive technologies; effects of dental insurance on dental demand; and the link between mother and child access to dental care.

A lot of depth to the topic of Burden Bearing- I recommend By Dommi I recommend this book for those who are both new to BB and those who have 'lived with it' for decades, like me, want to understand more about this gift. James is down to earth and uses metaphors (I prefer pc software than ships tbh as I know nothing of ships-lol) to help readers understand how BB gift operates. I especially like incidents that he shares where experiences have occurred which we wouldn't always recognise are related to BB. eg: feeling confused about directions when driving (an eye opener for me)I hope James writes more in teh coming future to help us draw into the 'gift' and also to help us comprehend the intimacy that Jesus desires with His bride which I personally feel is the backbone of this gift.
