In present time we all are busy and have no time for our self because of office, family and other necessary works so we start gaining our weight and also want loss weight but not able to do so because of all busy schedule.I was also worried about my weight and my very close friend give me this book and what I can say I found this book very interesting and valuable for me. And so I keep on finding ways to lose weight and this book was recommended by my friend By jodie I really want to lose weight but diet plans and exercises needs a lot of time and diet pills needs financial support and not really safe for the health. And so I keep on finding ways to lose weight and this book was recommended by my friend. The author discussed information on fifteen hand gestures because of the health benefits they possess which are all beneficial to the body.I really like using Mudras because it is very convenient and it doesn’t cost anything and required just knowledge and commitment. Since I have started doing Mudras I felt more relaxed and it helps in relieving my anxiety, tension and depression. This is a short read but I definitely learned a lot and would like to recommend this book to my friends.

Imagine, a book promoting weight loss through hand gestures! This is unbelievable at first, but when I started reading the book, I find it so convincing and so inspiring that I will give it a try. This is has profoundly explained, along with helpful images, how each hand gesture must be done in order to achieve the desired result. This is such a revelation!

Doing the Two-Step In The Kitchen By Dee Long We absolutely LOVE cookbooks that offer inspiration for getting nutritious and delicious meals on the table fast and with as few ingredients and steps as possible. The Two-Step Diabetes Cookbook fits this bill perfectly, and although its target audience are those who are watching their food intake due to diabetic conditions, the recipes are so versatile and delicious, this proves to be a great cookbook for anyone who loves delicious food. Most of the recipes come with a helpful cook's tip at the end and range from breakfast Ham & Swiss Savory French Toast to a dinner-worthy Ham, Potato and Green Pea Casserole. And how about an Italian Meatloaf that takes only 2 minutes to mix? Kudos to Hughes for this gift of 150 easy and pleasing healthy recipes!

A Short But Thoughtful Work By Nathan Albright [Note: This book was provided free of charge by BookLook/Thomas Nelson Publishers in exchange for an honest review.]At the heart of this book there is an identity crisis. The author has written a breezy and lighthearted book, only about 150 pages in the main text, filled with lots of sidebars, humorous jokes, silly quizzes about the Bible and pop culture, and appendices filled with crossword puzzles and word searches. Parts of this book are similar to what one would expect to see in the sort of books that are focused on the reading interest of preteen boys and girls. That said, the author explicitly seeks to appeal to a scholarly audience and also has a very serious point to make about the need for Christian evangelism to recognize the godly longings in the heart of our admittedly imperfect and flawed contemporary popular culture. Both of these levels exist simultaneously in the book, in such a way that is likely to wholeheartedly please neither those who want a light read about Justin Beiber and the Avengers nor those who want to read a straightforward examination of the need for Christians to stop viewing popular culture as the enemy and view it the same way Paul did the Greek culture he used to build a bridge between heathen philosophy and poetry and Christianity unless those readers are content to enjoy the book on both levels.In terms of organization, this book is very straightforward. Chapters of the book, with witty and clever titles, examine the often disguised Christian content of superhero movies, imperfect biblical adaptations, the Lego Movie, Lost, reality television, and music. Other chapters show the good and bad of various portrayals of Christians in popular culture from Saved! to the Big Bang Theory and a catchall chapter that includes further disguised biblical references in popular culture. There is a lengthy appendix of puzzles and games that seeks to provide some level of biblical familiarity to the audience as well. The author does not hide his agenda to influence Christians to treat popular culture as a bridge rather than as an enemy, and this view is not likely to please all of its readers. Yet an open agenda is better than any secret one would have been.So, how does one view this book? It has an important point, and one that deserves to be taken seriously, that we as Christians have forfeited a lot of cultural influence by being too quick to pounce on inevitable imperfections than to recognize that shared godly longings can be a bridge to greater understanding and love and compassion. That said, so much of this book is written at a lighthearted level, and is written about ephemeral aspects of popular culture that it is unlikely that this book will endure, as it is written about passing aspects of culture that are likely to become obsolete very quickly. Once the fads discussed in this book fade away, it seems unlikely that many readers will bother to dig deeper into the book when its once pleasant surface appearance has been the source of derision or confusion as tastes change and new fads take the temporary hold on our culture’s consciousness. Even then, though, no matter what form or content those fads take, there will be some bridge to biblical culture for those who are sensitive and alert, and that alone makes this book of considerable value for those who view it deeper than at the surface level.

His view is one that many would not even think of as a Biblical view. This book shows that God shows up in the most unusual places and that God can use anything to communicate with us.Kevin compares the stores of superheroes, such as Superman and Spiderman, how their values and lives compare to the Bible teachings. The movie The Book of Eli and the TV show Lost are just two offerings that have Biblical values to share. Each chapter has a section on everyday quotes that we all have used and shows the Bible verses where they came from. A trivia quiz section is offered in each chapter and at the end of the book. Also at the end of the book, there is a collection of games and puzzles with a Biblical theme.Not everyone will agree with Kevin in what he sees in these pop culture items. Is it possible that having pop culture offer redeeming values is a part of God's plan? God directed men in the writing of His Word, the Bible, so why, couldn't He use the writers of comics, movies, TV shows and songs to communicate with the non-believers and believers.I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. A needed book in these times By ioana "Like those four heroes of the Bible, would you dare to join me in learning more of the art of our time and see what God can do through us?"This is the question the author of All You Want to Know About the Bible in Pop Culture invites his reader to ponder. Kevin Harvey structures his book in eight chapters, each dealing with a major theme in pop culture. Starting from Superman’s (which of course stands for Savior, actually!), going through movies and TV series (oh, how I loved the Lost chapter!), the music that is so popular nowadays, and even the things we say that have been used in the Bible, Harvey shows his readers that there is something worth paying attention to in pop culture.The message of the book is this: pop culture offers just a glimpse, an idea of what people really need. Pop culture can only go that far in offering people what they lack – God. The other half is met by the Bible, the true, living Word of God. By looking at all the pop culture influences of these times in people’s lives, and implicitly in the believer's life, the author argues that the need for love and for salvation are deeply rooted in every human being, but we might be looking for the source of joyful life in all the bad places. As he put it: "Pop culture is oftentimes quite successful at providing for us the half that recognizes our brokenness. The half that admits our need for love, for purpose. The half that tells us we need redemption, someone or something to save us."I won’t lie – I have been very skeptical about this book. At times I felt the author to be too liberal in his thinking, too impertinently bold in his jokes. Despite all these, I could see his point, and I sure appreciated the research he’s been doing in proving this point. I absolutely loved the puns he made, the „inside jokes”, so to say regarding pop culture, and the references to the Biblical people. At times, yes, I felt lost because I know not of all these pop culture references, but all in all, I got the idea and the message. It’s a book I’ve enjoyed reading and I recommend it to anyone who wants to know what could God and pop culture ever have in common in this era.Throughout the book the author kept coming back to the same idea – God loves people and He is their biggest fan. One of my favourite passages in the book is this one, and sums up perfectly the desires of our hearts – to be loved: "...everyone is uniquely created by a God who cares recklessly and without abandon for them. He would be the first to follow them on Twitter, as well as their first friend on Facebook, and he would even keep checking back on their long-abandoned MySpace pages to see if they had finally been updated. The novel is structured much like a set of interlinked short stories that drive forward the main suspenseful plot. Part mystery (a young woman disappears), part angsty love story (her lover almost loses himself in his search for her) and something else I found compelling: each of the "minor characters" who tell the lovers' story also have their own complex struggles and desires that I found delightful (there is a woman who is an Extreme Ironer, for example) and tender (a middle-aged man must deal with his shopping addiction and the death of his relationship, an elderly woman comes to terms with ageing and her hopes for new love).

Sometimes that entails meeting the new girl in town who always seems moody, or becoming a hometown hero, braving severe weather, or being that brother who really tries to get along with his siblings. Of course, Camporee is coming closer and there's so much to do. Add an exciting cub car race and a church proposal that could drastically change life for the Vos's , and you've got a great story full of adventures once again. Well done Glenda Mathes! My children can't wait for the last book in the series.

All rights reserved. 8 The Technique of Power Magic I had a pivotal experience last year when, as I was doing the Enochian Meditation and experiencing the silence and tranquillity that the meditation bestowed on me, I felt the presence of God. This state didn’t last long, but while it did I received a spiritual message: I was told that sometime during the following week I would be given special information. Toward morning I got the message. It was simple. I was told that I could ascend to the highest realm where God was by using just one word, and I was told to use the name of God as this one word. This would enable me to go up to the place of profound silence where I would be before the Throne of God. This sounded good to me, but what word for God would I use? People all over the world have different concepts of God and a different word for Him, such as God, Yahweh, Lord, or Allah. Given this, I thought maybe I would just use the word “God,” or a word that would bring the thought or idea of God into my mind. But that didn’t feel right either; it wasn’t a simple and elegant solution. That’s when it struck me like a lightning bolt--I needed to use the Enochian word for God, or the word the angels used for God when they communicated with Dee. To figure out what the Enochian word for God is, I went through Dee’s diaries again to see what I might have missed. What I found was this: On Tuesday, April 10, 1584, when Dee and Kelley were in Cracow, Poland, they had another angelic communication, wherein the angel Nalvage gave the two men a tablet. On it was written the names of groups of angels and some short descriptions of them, which we’re not concerned with here. What we are concerned with here was something else written on the tablet in its four corners: IAD--the name of God. Given that the angels deemed IAD to be the name of God, given that it’s a three-letter word (this is significant because the names of the Aethyrs are likewise composed of three letters, so they have the same structure), and given that the tablet was given to Kelley and Dee just prior to their receipt of the Enochian Calls by the angels, it would appear that this is the word for which I was searching. The angel Nalvage did not name the tablet, which, down through the ages has been referred to as the Tablet of God or the Table of Nalvage. Nor did Nalvage provide instructions for its use or address its true function. I have my own theory about the tablet’s real function: I believe it’s the key to facilitating the Enochian Calls. What’s interesting to me is that the tablet was given to Dee and Kelley on April 10, 1584, and the first Call began three days later, on April 13, 1584, which to me implies there may be some relationship between the tablet and the Calls, or that they were meant to be used together. I believe the last statement Nalvage made about the tablet before he disappeared shows that my idea may not be off base. “Thy name be blessed, O God, which canst open a means, whereby thy powers immediately may be opened unto man. Power, glory, and honour, be unto thee, for thou art the true body of all things, and art life eternal.” Kelley then says (in Latin): “Now he is suddenly vanished away with the Table. Amen.” Thus ends the communication with the angel Nalvage regarding the Tablet of God. The last sentence from Nalvage is so important because to my mind it gives a clue to the tablet’s entire raison d’être. It’s clear to me that Nalvage is hinting to Dee and Kelley that the name of God can open realms and powers immediately after reading the Calls and not subsequent to a long process of spiritual search and discipline. The name of God is the means by which one can access this higher realm of God and His powers. To access the realm, first perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram and then read the Enochian Call. Then read the last name, IAD, slowly. The book is comprised mostly of the authors long winded speculations (John Dee had access to an as yet undiscovered manuscript by Enoch) his being the reincarnation of John Dee (John Dee, John DeSalvo, get it? the angels told him this) and he's the "third Enoch" (angels told him this too). Throw in aura's, ufo's and crystal skulls and you get the idea. Don't waste your money. I returned my copy. There are many good books on Enochian. "Enochian Magic and the Higher Worlds: Beyond..." is not one of them.

Rangel This is a different book, it is mostly for the debating mind, and practical for the ones that take action, it has very good points on views about many things on the subject of god, and our evolution, and most important the Magician Mystic path with I feel it is the correct one too, I gave him 4 stars because I think it is not about enochian magic, persay, but a different approach to contact god, with another table given to DEE.And this is where I got lost... he goes into explaining the string theory and the multidimensional particles that in existence (hope I got it right) about how this fabric of string (the all) permeates all, and this is GOD, but at the same time he goes into explaining how using a different table given to Dee we can find God... but how can we find something that we are... it is just the personality the one that separates us from it, maybe the author can clarify this point which I got lost...

Fascinating & so well-written By GracieSquare It’s obvious a lot of research & hard work has been put into writing this book, but the author presents it in the most fascinating & comprehensible way possible. And powerfully too: Weintraub integrates her own family experience with cancer. Yet the message throughout is positive & hopeful. Who knew pet dogs (& cats too) are playing such an important role in helping researchers & doctors learn more about treating & curing so many different cancers in both animals & humans? Now we do.

By penny21 A labor of loveI had never heard of the field of comparative oncology before reading this book, although I'm a doctor. It turns out that dogs are subject to many of the same cancers as humans, and they have a physiology closer to ours than, say, mice do. As a result, a select group of veterinarians and human oncologists have been collaborating to test in dogs drugs and immune therapies that will also inform research into treatments for humans. What's especially appealing about these trials in dogs is that, instead of inducing a tumor and then treating it, as happens with mice, these veterinarians are treating dogs who have naturally developed cancers. The vets are offering hope to the dogs' owners, and they're doing it with conscience and compassion.Arlene Weintraub is clearly a qualified and diligent science writer who came to this book as a labor of love. After losing her beloved sister to stomach cancer, she wanted to find a way to restore her faith in science as an avenue toward hope. The months of research and visits that went into this book are the result of that quest. One of the delights of the book is that Weintraub keeps her eye on the humanity of her human subjects and the equally real personalities of her animal ones. Dog lovers will feel they have gotten to know the dogs that populate these pages.Aside from serving as trial recipients of new drugs, dogs are also showing themselves to be adept at literally sniffing out tumors that may be at a stage to early to be detected by other means.This book is likely to be of interest to dog lovers, those curious about science, and anyone who has been brushed by the specter of cancer in a loved one.

About the Author Ed Friedman earned a B.S. in physics at the University of Mary in 1966 and a Ph.D. in cryogenic physics from Wayne State University in 1972. He started his career in the field of ocean optics and subsequently developed system concepts for remote sensing of the atmosphere and oceans. After completing studies related to the design of spacecraft and instruments for the measurement of the radiation balance of the Earth, he was appointed a visiting scientist in the climate program at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Subsequent employers included The Mitre Corporation, Martin Marietta (where he met the co-author), Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corporation, and the Boeing Company, where he currently serves as a Technical Fellow in the Lasers and Electo-Optics Division.

In the last ten years, he has concentrated on the development of mission concepts and technologies for astrophysics and space science. While at Ball, he was Chief Technologist of the Civil Space business unit. Recent areas of interest include the use of space-based interferometers to create detailed maps of stellar positions and the use of coronagraphic methods for detection of planets in distant solar systems. In 2001, he was awarded a patent for a novel method of alignment and phasing of large, deployed Earth-viewing optics. He has been a patent reviewer for the journal "Applied Optics" and an editor for the journal "Optical Engineering." Dr. Friedman has published more than 10 peer-reviewed papers on remote sensing, diffractive beam propagation, and ocean optics. Early in his career, he published a book and approximately ten articles on electronics. While a visiting scientist at NCAR, he published five articles on the role of remote sensing in detecting human influences on climate. He is the coauthor of the two previous editions of this book. Ed recently retired after two seasons as a member of the National Ski Patrol. He and his wife Judith Friedman live in the mountains west of Boulder, Colorado.

John Lester Miller earned a B.S. in Physics at the University of Southern California in 1981, participated in physics, math, and engineering graduate studies at Cal State Long Beach and the University of Hawaii, then earned an M.B.A. from Regis University in 1989. He chairs the SPIE session of advanced infrared technology, co-chairs the session on homeland security, and referees papers for several electro-optical journals. He has held positions as Chief Scientist, Director of Advanced Technologies, Program Director, Functional Manager, Lead Engineer, and Electro-Optical Engineer with FLIR Systems (Portland, Oregon), the Research Triangle Institute (Lake Oswego, OR), Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin (Denver, Colorado; Utica, New York; and Orlando, Florida), the University of Hawaii's NASA IRTF (Hilo, Hawaii), Rockwell International (Seal Beach, California), Mt. Wilson and Palomar Observatories (Pasadena, California), and Griffith Observatory (Los Angeles, California). While at Martin Marietta in Denver, he met Ed Friedman. He has published more than 40 papers on optical sciences and is the author of "Principles of Infrared Technology" and the co-author of the two previous editions of this book. John has several patents pending in electro-optical technologies. His experience includes leading integrated research, design, and marketing efforts on advanced security systems, active imagers, infrared sensors, space sensors, helmet-mounted systems, scientific instrumentation, homeland security surveillance systems, radiometric test facilities, aviation enhanced vision systems, and environmental and weather monitoring sensors.

John is Vice President of Advanced Technology for FLIR Systems, Inc., in Portland, Oregon. He and his wife, Corinne Foster, split their time between Lake Oswego and

Lots of different plot twists and the introduction of the detective team, Inspector John Sanders and photographer Harriet Jeffries. They are first accidently involved in the international events relating to a trade conference in Canada, and are drawn into the action as it happens around them. The plot is well balanced with character development of these two, and I very much liked the contrast of Sanders analytical and careful thinking with Harriet's spunk and sense of justice. A wonderful pair, I can't wait to enjoy more adventures with these two!
