About the Author "
My wife told me a few years ago that I shouldn't write my first book until I was forty years old because then I would have the experience to say something meaningful. I'm forty-five now, and I think I have a few things to say that are meaningful and hopefully transforming to all who read. I also have twenty-five years of ministry experience in both the military and civilian worlds and am about to reach my ten thousandth counseling session.
My wife and I enjoy raising our six children—five daughters and one son—together. We wish we would have met each other ten years earlier and had more kids; that's how much we love our family and sharing this amazing journey of life together. We currently live in Texas but are moving to Japan in the near future.

While reading the book I really felt a connection. You know how when some people read a book they feel as if they are a part of the story? That’s how I felt. Christian Biscotti, I believe, wrote The Passion Model: How Do You Survive the Unsurvivable not only to share his faith, but to show you the importance of believing in something other than humanity. He strives to show us why we need to believe in something other than ourselves. If we as a society simply relied on people for emotional, spiritual physical support, soon enough someone will let us down in one way or another. Furthermore, no matter how blessed our lives seem to be at some point in time, there will be trials and tribulations that we will go through. Even though you have a support system such as family, friends, priests, pastors, teachers etc……we must rely on a higher power, such as our heavenly father. If you choose to read the book you will hear about some very difficult and trying times that Christian went through over time with the helping hand of God. I have known Christian for a couple of years now. In his book he states that he has done some pastoring, ministering, and finally missionary work. Simply put Christian, as well as a vast number of people in today’s society, feel that we are vessels of God, and God has created us simply to serve Him and He has called us to pass on His message to others, even to those who are skeptical of His existence. Christian is a family man who strives to be the best father and husband as well as friend and teacher that he can be. As he demonstrates in his book none of us are perfect. We all are flawed in different ways. Despite the trials and tribulations that one can and probably will experience through one’s lifetime a higher power always has your back. Furthermore, at times your relationship with God may be tested however, it is important to realize that God will not give you more than you can handle. Moreover, even through the hard times God is still holding you up. In my late teens early 20’s some events took place in my life that really put a strain on my relationship with God. You could say I began to lose my faith in our heavenly father. Before these events took place, my relationship with our Lord was incredibly strong I felt that our relationship had an unbreakable bond, and I was right. The bond that you have with Jesus Christ is never broken despite all of the trials and tribulations you go through. Your relationship with our heavenly father will never break. It may seem like He is not listening or that He has let you fall, but I assure you He is always with you no matter what you may think. Christian values the life and blessings that our Lord has given him and it is evident in every aspect of his life, whether he is being a father, husband, teacher, mentor etc. you can clearly see how he values his relationship with God in his life. He simply wants people to know and understand the feeling of salvation and peace. For anyone who wants to have a closer and more meaningful relationship with God, I recommend purchasing this book and going on the journey that Christian as well as God has chosen to share with us. After reading this book you will truly feel more at peace and closer to God. I know I for one did.

At times made it me cry and in others it made me laugh, but most importantly, it provided much more than a few hours of entertaining reading, it asked if I'm "dating God" and looking to Him as my source of strength. Biscotti presents a model of how to persevere in trying times. This model challenged me to dig deeper and analyze how I handle the trials in my life. Do I lean into God, "anchoring" myself to Him as Jesus did and apply my faith or do I instead rely on my own limited strength and then wonder why I fail?The author channels his vast experiences as a counselor, minister, father, and husband and provides nuggets of wisdom in each area. He also includes scripture to support his perspective and provides evidence of how American presidents have anchored themselves to God and overcome their obstacles.Overall, I highly recommend this book to to anyone searching for strength, as it is an excellent tool for that purpose and for preparation for when a storm comes.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Give this book to a friend struggling in life. By nat Christian Biscotti states clearly, "We need God! We need Christ's love!" Stories within his own life and the lives of others confirm that we need God as our lighthouse, our anchor, or whatever positive metaphor you want to utilize. He touches on suicide, a topic close to almost every Westerner. Christian's book makes a great gift to a friend you have , who is struggling in life. I know Christian and his family well and they have been a huge blessing to my family and me. I don't cry much; but, when I pick up his book and think about the true stories and the hurt that people have gone through, I well up with tears and I am not ashamed, because Christ works miracles in my life and the in the lives of all who trust Jesus to do great and mighty things personally--forgiveness being a key one!
