This book will give you answers and just as importantly, it will give you hope. I highly recommend it to all my friends and anyone who reads this review.

SPD + Psychopathology - A Winning Combination By GreenEyedRach As a psychotherapist and an adult with SPD, I really found Heller's latest book to be especially meaningful. Few - if any - texts deal with SPD and psychopathology, which is so common - especially in adults who were diagnosed with SPD later in life. The cases she presents feel intimate, and are helpful for comparison. She also integrates some occupational therapeutic ideas and techniques, which are already proving helpful for me. An interesting read for SPDers of all ages!

I found occasional awkward sentences; incorrect punctuation, especially commas; the overuse of dashes; some periods before the parenthesis in citations; and it doesn't always even cite references. It had little if any new revelations or insight, and it was very repetitive. “Wordiness” was used for “worldliness,” a big difference. From about 88% on, it became about the author’s other books.However, the book still gave some good ideas and backed them up with the Bible. I felt it good for renewing and refreshing things I knew and agree with. This is also an appropriate topic, since many churches are declining at alarming rates. The book is certainly worth reading.

By Chris Norris Vesna Main's novel is inventive, witty, 'experimental' in style and structure, but none the less involving and powerful for that. It is written in purely dialogue form and makes a point of leaving its readers with their own share of imaginative work to do. At the same time - a mark of rare narrative skill - it constantly guides and assists that work through a series of shrewdly placed hints and suggesttions. The author is a formalist and, iif you like, an 'experimental' writer in so far as she believes in 'making it new' and exploring hitherto untried possibilities of fictional invention. On the other hand she has a gift for maintaining psychological interest, curiosity and anticipation that is not so often found in novels of that kind. The multiple narratives are ingeniously interwoven and the dialogue handled with a deftness of touch that keeps readers perpetually on their toes. Although she has learned some handy lessons from Nathalie Sarraute and other, mainly French practitioners of the 'new novel' Vesna Main here shows herself a highly distinctive, adventurous, and formally accomplished writer whose work should find many admirers.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. The Power of an Interesting Title By Somannie Bux Indeed, probably the only reason that this tedious volume has sold at all. At one point the author implies that a writer's work is dubious because of his lack of references, a profound case of a pot calling a kettle black. If you must read this, do yourself a favor and borrow it: spending money on this opus is a thought more terrifying than any story in it.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Too bland...i knew most of the stories By jackreacher I thought this book would be interesting, terrifying and that I would learn much. It was boring. I kept reading it thinking that I would find something neat to read about, but was disappointed.

Channeling And/Or Spiritually Wearing Divine Personas By Stella Carrier I admit that this book The Essential Guide To Posession, Depossession & Divine Relationships by Diana L. Paxson (author of Trance-Portation) is not like anything I have remembered seeing before. This is because this book actually unexpectedly came into my awareness (through amazon) less than six to seven months after I first wondered (via a daydream) if there was information out there related to what I’ve eventually seen written in this book. Nonetheless, I’m fortunate to admit that I pre-ordered this book before it was even released. The following are some of the novel details in The Essential Guide To Possession, Depossession, & Divine Relationships by Diana L. Paxson;Relationships models when connecting to divine beings such as friend to friend, employee to employer, soldier to commander etc. (starts on page 81)Page 103-Being careful and/or aware of the implication that connecting with beings in the spirit world would be the easy part, it is the making sure that one uses their intuition to separate the well intentioned spirits with those who are testing someone to see how far they could go (just as a person would do this with discerning the motives of other people living before taking their advice). I like that the author uses an example of a test to make sure that the spirit is benevolent (present for a person’s highest good).Pages 76-77-identifying the spiritual powers that a person feels compelled to work with and the role of writing down this down in a notebook, including other details discussed in the book.Pages 117-124- the realities of the preparation and/or initiation that may be necessary before making a connecting to certain divine beings/deities are listed, including what to keep in mind when cultivating such spiritual connections. Additionally, the author mentions obvious and less apparent realities that must be considered if one goes about this route if one has children, is married, and/or is unmarried but has a long term partner etc.Coverage of the “issues” that can arise and the author shares some examples on how these were handled (i.e. uninvited guests, guests who don’t leave, and ways to tell if the experience is real, starts on page 238).

The Class Meeting as a Means of Grace By namwan kalong This should be a companion book to the contemporary book "the Class Meeting: Reclaiming a Forgotten (and Essential) Small Group Experience" by Watson in that it outlines what the original class meeting was and how to conduct it in its original form where Watson's book outlines what it is now. A life-long Methodist, I had never heard of these class meetings much less knew what they were about, or how they got started. This book outlines the history and the method as well as the reasons for holding them. The kindle edition has no navigable table of contents but the content is so worth reading that i couldn't mark it down, especially when the text is without many spelling errors.

The author, Dr. Hogue, is very readable. Although the book is over 100 years old, the principles and concepts are as fresh and workable today as they were then. Every pastor of a church should read and implement this system as a means of grace for their congregation. Every church member should read and implement the class meeting in their own church.
