Eric Elliott is a master wordsmith and wonderful writer who speaks to you through the pages By Suzanne Mr. Eric Elliott is a master wordsmith and wonderful writer who speaks to you through the pages. It was a page-turner that I read in one sitting. In reading this book you will come away with many noteworthy acronyms such as AM versus PM man and PDD, as well as catchy sayings such as cruise ship versus battle ship. (To find out what those mean you have to read the book). ;)Furthermore, Mr. Elliott calls upon famous quotes from figures in politics, sports and spirituality to help paint a vivid picture for his reader, which keeps the book riveting and engaging.Mr. Elliott's book while very entertaining is heartfelt and spirited. There are words of wisdom for every race, gender, and creed. Mr. Elliott comes across in the book as both very knowledgeable, yet humble. He implores in chapter 2 for people to pay attention. On page 31 he notes, "Wherever there are unlimited choices, there's a dire need for sage voices." Mr. Elliott is one of these voices in which we need to listen. He earns our trust not only with his credentials but also with his honesty and forthrightness that is woven throughout the 157 pages.The book is laid out in a logical manner and the "Check Out This Chapter" sections are a huge help for highlighting the material both before and after you read each chapter.One of my favorite lines in the book is on page 60. "That which you want from a relationship, you ought to bring to the relationship since relationships are more about becoming the right person than finding the right person."Also, on page 66 the author grants profound wisdom by stating, "Since there is no such thing as being effective and confused at the same time, establish today where you stand on these matters."Mr. Elliott writes with an imploring sense of urgency, urging the reader to take action and accountability for the lessons and guidance that should be bestowed upon our sons. He urges "you to think as a 'thermometer' instead of a 'thermostat. A thermometer reacts to its environment whereas a thermostat connects to a furnace or air conditioner to control the temperature of the environment.'" (page 132)Mr. Elliott writes about "four specific growth pursuits necessary for total cultivation: mental: spiritual, social, and physical." (page 79) If you are looking for a book that is a catalyst for proactive change in the life of your family, look no further. I highly recommend this book for anyone parenting in these exciting yet challenging times.

Great Book for Leaders and Spiritual Men By Darrell Kain I have been thoroughly impressed with this book because it is very honest and gives clear direction. It gives some practical advice to young men and to middle age men who are either raising or mentoring young men. Mr Elliott is quite the wordsmith who finds unique ways to point out "MEN" in numerous contexts. I like that is has a spiritual focus with references to Bible verses and quotes from ministers and pastors. I think what has made this book difficult to put down is that the author shares very personal stories ranging from loss, great role models, and overcoming obstacles. I highly recommend this book for those interested in leadership, mentoring, or community improvement.

The author discloses foundational frameworks which families can use to paint a vivid image of family strength. Author Elliot, provides many examples and thought provoking chapters that share perspectives on the power of the mind and its effect on productivity.
